This section is my tribute to Sunderland AFC, the sleeping giants of English football who are now just starting to play to their potential in the best league in the world...The English Premier League.

Sunderland are from the North-East along with 2 other teams from the North East who are in the Premiership.  One of them is Middlesborough who hate Sunderlands guts but who we don't give a damn about and then there is the real enemy......Newcastle United..... The scum of the earth, the Sunderland vs Newcastle games are the true derby games, they hate us and we hate them, they are packed with passion, comitment and violence.  Nothing means more to a true Sunderland or Newcastle fan than beating our rivals, and nothing makes us more happy than seeing them crying into their pints and smashing up the bigg market again (the thick geordies have a thing of smashing up their own city when they get beaten on important games).

This is all a Newcastle shirt is good for!

Sunderland used to play their football at Roker Park where many a legend stepped out in the famous red and white strip.  We have many great players that have donned the colours of Sunderland including Brian Clough, Len Shackleton, Ian Porterfield, Bobby Kerr, Charlie Hurley, Bobby Gurney, Chris Turner, Len Ashurst, Gary Bennett, Raich Carter, Stan Cummins, Eric Gates, Marco Gabbiadini, Gary Rowell (for scoring a hat-trick against Newcastle), Niall Quinn, Chris Waddle and currently Kevin Phillips who is topping the Premiership goal scoring charts ahead of Scumcastles Alan Shearer (who is illegitimate and has no birth certificate...he also has aids and he cant get rid of it, the dirty black and white bastard!).

Due to the current success of the club and the fact that Roker Park was too small and was falling apart after many many years of football being played there the board decided it was time for a new stadium to be built.  At the time it was built it was hailed as the best stadium in English football with its 42,000 capacity (which is constantly being upgraded) and up to date facilities.  There was alot of comotion about what the new stadium would be called and it was eventually named "The Stadium Of Light" due to the fact it was built on the old colliery and as a mark of respect to the miners that used to work there.

Samson Sunderland's nickname has and always will be "The Black Cats", a vote was recently cast to get the official nickname of Sunderland AFC as some people called us the Wearsiders.  As should be, the vote went in favour of The Black Cats by a large majority and we kept the name that they have had since I can remember.  Because of the Black Cats nickname, Sunderland's mascots are Samson and Delilah, two black cats dressed in Sunderland strips. Delilah
